Easy DIY Kids Ornament
Thanks to my awesome shipment of fun craft supplies from Oriental Trading, I have been able to make so many fun Christmas themed projects. Of course my 2 girls were begging to get it in on the crafting fun. It was hard to stop what I was doing one afternoon (there is SO much to get done in December) and take some time out and just focus on my kids. But, I am SO GLAD that I did. We had a great time together inventing and creating this little ornament. Such a simple thing, but a memory that will last forever every time we see their litle diy kids ornament hanging on our tree.
Of course they are really easy to make. You will need the following craft supplies and tools:
small jingle bells, craft poms, chenille stems, hot glue gun and a pair of scissors.
String your bells on the chenille stem until you have enough little bells bunched together that you are satisfied. Then twist the stem closed into a circle and trim the ends with your scissors.
Pick up another chenille stem and twist it onto the bell laden circle. This second chenille stem forms the hook to hang the ornament. Here are the first 3 steps.
Again, once your have twisted them securely together, trim the unwanted ends.
Then choose a couple of craft poms and hot glue them to the top to cover where the 2 chenille stems meet and are twisted together.
Done!! I told you super easy right! And the best part is that your kids can do most of this by themselves.
I love to sit and do a project WITH them, not FOR them! You know what I mean right? Aren’t they so adorable? They were super proud of their ornaments and never failed to show them off to everyone who came to visit. I seriously love these girls!
And yes, on a side note, it is December and my girls are in summer like clothing. We live in AZ and I have such a hard time getting them to put on warm clothing. My Arizona raised babies just like shorts and flip flops….but seriously, who can blame them! 🙂 So when we are staying home for the day they wear what they want. Another battle I just can’t care to fight. {wink}
