End of Summer Party
Oh Summer, how we will miss thee. I seriously have a love hate relationship with Summertime. I absolutely adore having my kids home and sleeping in, and swimming all day and going to fun places and staying up late. But sometimes, let’s be honest here, I miss them being gone at school all day. But then school starts and I am hating the rigid daily schedule….man, there is so much good and bad about everything right!?! But since Summer is ending and we will miss it, and since school is starting on Monday for which we are excited, we definitely needed a celebration. The beginning of a new school year is always something to look forward to, but the end of summer definitely deserves a proper goodbye.
Enter, the End of Summer Party! At our house this is the last night that my kids get to stay up late before early bedtimes kick back in. This year we celebrated with a pool party with dear friends.
After yummy food.We LIT UP the pool with over 100 glow sticks, necklaces and bracelets from Oriental Trading, and swam until we were exhausted. It was awesome.
Look how cool that looks! We adorned ourselves and especially the kiddos (so I knew where they were at all times 😉 with necklaces and bracelets and scattered sticks all over the pool.
The boys came up with all kinds of unique and creative ways to wind the necklaces and bracelets around their heads and bodies, it was so funny to watch all the stuff they came up with!
Even the adults got in on the fun!
These glow sticks were super awesome, they were extremely bright and lasted for HOURS and HOURS! Plus, look at the dual colors! Super awesome.
When I went to check on my sleeping girls I found these babies tucked strategically around their rooms, those little stinkers were decorating with glow sticks when they were supposed to be sleeping! They could not get enough of them!
We had such a great time for our last hurrah before the end of summer. Gotta love a good party!

Ahhh so fun! I need to be a part of this type of party at least once in my life! Great idea! I bet the kids LOVE it and will always remember this fun tradition!
