Simple Baby Shower
If you are like me you love a good party, you love friends, you love food and you LOVE babies! If you are also like me you are often short on time. Yes, I like to try and CRAM too much into my days. But just because I am a “wee” bit busy does not mean that when my sweet friend is pregnant with her 4th that we don’t throw her a party! I know, I know, 4th baby, you are probably thinking this girl does not need a shower, she has all the baby stuff she needs! And, mostly you would be right. Anyone having a baby that is not number one or even number two most likely has a lot of baby stuff. But..babies are special!!! A friend having a baby needs to be celebrated regardless of whether or not mom needs more baby stuff!
When you have a friend who doesn’t necessarily “need” a baby shower but you still want to celebrate with her, this simple baby shower idea is perfect. Having a baby is momentous and definitely deserves attention!! When this is the case our group of lady friends throws what we call a “Restaurant Shower”. This is how it goes:
One of us is hostess. The hostess is in charge of inviting the momma to be’s closest friends to the restaurant of her choosing. In this case I was the hostess and my dearest friend Amy (see pic above, love you Amy!) chose Red Robin. We all gather there and eat and talk, and eat and talk, and eat and talk….for hours! Presents are optional and diapers are usually the most common gift given, because let’s face it, all new mom’s need diapers.
My friend Coleen made this adorable basket of “babies” out of diapers, socks and washcloths. So cute, I couldn’t stop looking at them with their little googly eyes peeking out!
Look at this smiling group of ladies, I love all of these women and I love that I get to be a part of such a supportive group of friends.
Great idea for a baby shower?? I think YES!

Thanks Ginger!! I love your weekly party and am so excited to be featured!
Yes, I agree! This is perfect because its all the close friends of the mom to be, so they would all want to celebrate with her no matter how many children previously:)
I love love this idea! You are so right we need to celebrate a mommy to be even if it’s child number six.
