Stay Put Bookmark
I love this stay put bookmark. I am a crazy avid reader and this bookmark is awesome! I made one for my sister and my mom too because they also cannot put a good book down and carry their books everywhere with them. I know, I know, in this electronic age who reads “real” books anymore? I do read on my tablet A LOT, but there is just something unique about holding and reading a real book and not an electronic one! So if you are like me and often read from “real” books then this book mark will help you out.
It is perfect, it doesn’t slip out and it holds the pages down on theleft side while you read. It is especially neat because Continue reading

How to Make a Kids Apron
Hi everyone! I am excited to be here guest posting for Britany’s awesome blog. A few weeks ago I got to spend a few days visiting my sister and her family WITHOUT my own three wonderful crazy children. Brit and I both started having kids around the same time so I don’t often get the opportunity to just be the fun Auntie. I really enjoyed hanging out with my two cute nieces without the distraction my own responsibilities bring. Continue reading

Fabric Flowers
Sometimes when I am working on a project another project springs into my head and then I have to stop what I am doing to work on the new idea that I can’t stop from bouncing around in my brain. A lot of times this is what causes my craft room to look like a tornado has blown through! This constant shifting of attentions is also what oftentimes is the cause of me having many started projects and few finished ones! =) These particular fabric flowers popped into my head begging to be made whilst my sister and I were (well…mostly my sister) sewing up some aprons for my 2 girls. I love the fabric combo, teal and pink are so yummy and they just needed to be combined on a shirt for my littlest. Super easy to make! I just grabbed a white shirt from her closet and fabric scraps from the sewing project that I stopped mid halt to whip these babies up.

Easy Pillow Covers
Ok, this is embarrassing to admit…but the pillow on my couches are over 6 years old!! Yes, I wash them, but YES they need to be updated STAT! The above pic shows the covered pillows because I just couldn’t take a close up pic of the old ones! Covering them has been on my to do list forever. I would love to have just bought new pillows but have you shopped for couch pillows lately? They are expensive, holy cow!!! But sewing covers for them, totally within my budget. My pillow forms were still in great condition, but the sequins and designs on the pillows were a little ratty people!
Sewing these pillow covers was seriously easy. Especially after I finished the first one, it’s always easier after you get one figured out. I found a tutorial over at Texas Cottage, and used the directions to sew my first pillow. It worked great, but the cover was a little too tight for my liking, so I changed the measurements a little, whipped up some easy pillow covers, shot some pictures, and here it is, my first sewing tutorial here at 32 Turns. I think they turned out AWESOME!
